There are a number of reasons why, depending on your case, adopting a shelter dog could be better, hassle-free option. I've posted about it at
http://www.mefindhome.org/2008/02/adopting-adult-shelter-dogs-10-good.html

Again Thanks, Doc! :Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10745858.post-63371557375886125932008-05-15T07:24:00.000+08:002008-05-15T07:24:00.000+08:00@honey: i think it's a male dog thing. our pug is...@honey: i think it's a male dog thing. our pug is agreeable but hopelessly hyper! he went through a chewing phase as a puppy which he occasionally lapses back into - as a matter of fact, my iPod was one of his victims.

@vanessa: mini-schauzers are cute, too, but i'm not sure i have the firm hand needed to control one! :)

@tina: pugs are a big dog in a little package. :) one thing i like about our pug is that he's not at all yippy. just a sweetheart.dr_clairebearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14019592712453965433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10745858.post-91999587789048599882008-05-15T03:35:00.000+08:002008-05-15T03:35:00.000+08:00So cute! It's our first time with one - Zorro - and he's hyperactive as heck. He can jump as high as the dining table (he likes to sleep on it) and has already gnawed through two METAL dog cages (not to mention our upholstery and, weirdly, several of my LEFT foot tsinelas). On the other hand, pugs are super agreeable and very devoted. We're on our second one - Frankie - and she's a sweetheart: stinky but well-behaved :-)Honey Oliveroshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10880377558968084650noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10745858.post-60992366578239111932008-05-14T07:19:00.000+08:002008-05-14T07:19:00.000+08:00@toe: sage is quite handsome for a pug, but the da...@toe: sage is quite handsome for a pug, but the darn dog knows he can get away with anything. :)

beagles also have a good review on the sites and books i've read, and they're easy to groom.

@dette: having dogs or any pet really teaches kids responsibility in a big way. it's great that you have them cleaning up the poop after your pets, it'll prepare them for when they have their own dogs (and kids! - hehehe) to take care of.dr_clairebearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14019592712453965433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10745858.post-84685139649357351582008-05-14T03:29:00.000+08:002008-05-14T03:29:00.000+08:00We have a yellow lab (Samson) and a cat (Cleopatra...We have a yellow lab (Samson) and a cat (Cleopatra).

Labs are so friendly and super-good with kids - I'm amazed at what he's put up with from the monsters.

But my WORD - the work involved in taking care of pets. I did not grow up around animals and it has taken some getting used to. However, I am willing to put up with some mess and inconvenience for the adoring head in my lap begging to have her ears scratched. After a hard day, she wants nothing more than to give and receive some love without strings attached. We have a cat, too, but dogs rule.
Making Perfect Sense Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10745858.post-69717351391769185672008-05-13T01:38:00.000+08:002008-05-13T01:38:00.000+08:00dogs are the best! playful and you have to watch o...dogs are the best! playful and you have to watch out for extreme show of affection, but the best, nonetheless...

dog person ka din pala sis!
