Off the Edge

This is how I feel at the moment.

The visa is in, and suddenly I am careening full speed ahead. While I know I have been planning this trip for months, I feel like I've been suddenly pushed off the edge. Probably because, given my penchant for pessimism, I haven't really given myself any leeway to get used to the idea that I'm leaving.

On the other hand, glitches just keep on coming - some of them due to my own stupidity and lack of foresight. I am still running against the deadline, and since the process of getting the visa took so darn long, my papers there are no longer valid and I have to send new copies. It's a tedious and frustrating process. This is particularly daunting because I have bled my savings dry and if things don't fall through, I will be all but destitute.

Oh, well... nothing to be done now but let what will happen, happen! After all, they don't call it a leap of faith for nothing.

Where are you going? Is it for a short vacation or transfer of work? Wherever you're headed, here's wishing you a happy and safe trip. Enjoy! Meantime, I hope all your paper works will be over soon. :)

The helplessness usually helps with the anxiety, haha :) Good luck Dr. Claire!

The visa was the biggest hurdle here and you have successfully passed it. That was the most important part.

Don't worry too much about bleeding your savings dry. Focus on getting the remainder of the paperwork done and hopefully, you'll be on your way to Australia soon. Things will sort themselves out sooner or later.

Best of luck, Claire. The pieces are slowly but surely falling into place for you. Please stay strong and keep looking forward. Take care. :)

At everyone! many, many thanks for the words of encouragement.

I am in a state of panic right now... and if my feet were cold before, they are sub-ZERO now. part of me is looking for a loophole to back out... hay.

It sucks big time that my internet connection is currently on the fritz and i can't reply to all of your great comments one by one...
